Mental health is an important part of society today. As a student myself, I have struggled with my mental health because of pressured expectations and the reality of everyday life. As more is demanded of students who strive to attend top universities, or even adults who struggle to keep up with their emotions, mental health affects people of all ages. Mental health is a universal issue that affects millions of people worldwide, luring attention to how to cure this problem.
Many face mental health issues because of social isolation or the sense of loneliness. This leads to many having depression and anxiety. Many have turned to social gatherings that have proven to boost positive feelings and decrease anxiety(Williams). This is one of the many ways to improve one's mental health. Seeking care and finding a group that gives a sense of belonging to the victim significantly can impact their thinking. This also provides evidence of how mental health is a huge sect of public health. These supporters allow the patient to improve their well-being and focus on thriving rather than accepting their negative thoughts. A variety of tactics have been researched and created to aid people when they need it, emphasizing the strong correlation that public health has with mental health.
Furthermore, physical health and mental health often can go hand-in-hand. Mental health can lead to intentional or unintentional self-injury due to severe depression or anxiety. Unstable mental health compels their victims to act this way to control their feelings or have a sense of connection with others (Stänicke). Physical health can also lead to the deterioration of mental well-being. The same routine and lack of motivation can often lead patients to become depressed. They also spend days, months, and years, in the hospital, further separating them from society, and leading them to have feelings of loneliness and depression(The Lancelot). Thus, public health workers come into play, analyzing and creating methods for people now and in the future to improve the health of people and communities. These people can rely on what public health officials offer, boosting their well-being and satisfying the goals that public health officials want to meet which is helping people improve their way of life.
